Dr.S. Ramakrishnan, DAM.

Dr. S. Ramakrishnan was born in the year 1933. His father was Sankara Iyer mother was Lekshmi Ammal after his school education he joined Government Ayurveda college in the year 1955. He completed integrated course (DAM) Ayurveda and started his Ayurvedic medical practice along with his uncle Dr. Y. Mahadeva Iyer in Derisanamcope village. He is continuously practicing for almost half a century. He is simple and highly committed to the welfare of patients. During his entire career he has seen very many varieties of cases. He is one of the main causes for the tradition to continue successfully in this village of this Institution. Even after passing away of Dr. Y. Mahadeva Iyer, Dr. S. Ramakrishnan has been responsible in sustaining the functioning of the hospital till date. His contribution in the clinical side is of great importance in the whole history of the hospital.

Dr.K. Chidambaram, BAM.

Dr. K.Chidambaram was born in the year 15.12.1953. He graduated from the Government Ayurveda College in 1979. Joined his maternal grandfather Dr. Mahadeva Iyer in his practice in the hospital. Apart from Clinical practice Dr. Chidambaram is well versed in Bhaisajyakalpana (Preparation of medicines).

Participated and gave lecture demonstration in traditional methods of preparation and preservation of Siddha and Ayurvedic medicines. On 5th & 6th September 1998 at Nardep, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari.

Lecture demonstration in Food preparation for Foreigners at Sivananda Ashram, Neyyar Dam from year 1998 and conducted Health Camps.

Lecture demonstration on Medicines preparations and food preparations at Anaikatti, Coimbatore, in the year 2000.

Clinical and therapeutic values of medicinal plants of the forest of Kanyakumari District at seminar on the forest of Kanyakumari district, by conservation of nature trust at Nagercoil in the year 1998.

Participated and presented in Herbal plant awareness conference 1999 at Rotary Committee Centre, Nagercoil conducted by Collector, Kanyakumari District.

He has given guidance to Projects on Ayurveda for College Students.

He has written a book in the name of "Noi Theerkkum Sri Dhanwantari" – Tamil Book, Published by Karpagam Puthakalayam, Chennai and also he has transliterated and given a short commentary to another book "Sthanusthavam" about Suchindrum Temple written by Sri Adhi Shankararacharya in Sanskrit. He has written a book in the name of "Mottuvali and management guide" – Tamil Book, Published by Sarad Mahadeva Iyer Ayurvedic Educational & Charitable Trust”

Dr. L. Mahadevan, BAMS,MD.Ph.D (Ayu)

Dr. L. Mahadevan is a highly respected Ayurvedic physician known for his expertise and contributions to the field of Ayurveda. He has earned a distinguished reputation as a compassionate healer, educator, and author. Dr. L. Mahadevan's deep knowledge of Ayurvedic principles and his commitment to Ayurveda Medicine have earned him recognition both nationally and internationally.

Dr. L.Mahadevan completed his graduation BAMS from Venkataramana Ayurveda College, Chennai. He did post-graduation MD Kayachikitsa from Government Ayurveda College, Thiruvananthapuram. He did his doctorate Ph.D (Ayurveda) from Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu.

As an Ayurvedic physician, Dr. L. Mahadevan has dedicated his life to understanding the ancient healing system of Ayurveda and its practical applications in modern times. Mahadevan coming from a village, has showed continuous dedication in Ayurvedic learning with good clinical and academic skills. He is one of the most wanted teachers in the field of Ayurveda.

He is continuing as a successful practitioner in a village in Kanyakumari dist. He is also an Professor in Pankajakasthuri Ayurveda College, Kattakkada with a wide range of academic activities. He has published a number of papers and attended large number of seminars national as well as International.

He has developed a unique Guna based Tridoshic concepts of clinical practice for practitioners and budding ayurvedic clinical practitioners and students.

He conducts regular CMEs, seminars and national conferences inside and outside state by sharing his vast clinical experiences with excellent oratory skills. To highlight the special feature of the professional career of the Dr. L.Mahadevan it will be apt to mention here that he conducted 2 national seminars VAIDYANADHAM – 2014 and VAIDYANADHAM 2018 focusing on Tridoshic Principles at Vivekananda Kendra Campus, Kanyakumari. It was an unique event in that more than 500 delegates attended from all over India all of whom eagerly involved themselves in the proceedings all the three days.

Besides Ayurveda, he handles literature, music, poems and public speaking. Personally trained more than 2500 BAMS and MD ayurvedic students in Ayurvedic community.

He started a charitable trust 15 years ago by the name SARADA MAHADEVA IYER AYURVEDIC EDUCATIONAL AND CHARITABLE TRUST. By this trust, he is providing free treatment, medicines and clinical consultation to poor and needy people. He is extending financial help for the needy patient to require emergency and higher stage treatment. Also he provides in house clinical training program to Ayurveda students after their completion of UG and PG studies. Students from different colleges are sent here for internship.

Dr. L. Mahadevan showed sincere constructive efforts in uplifting ordinary Ayurveda student to higher levels. He has created good number of Ayurvedic clinical practitioners. Dr.L. Mahadevan formulated clinical protocols for various ailments using classical Ayurveda for fresh practitioners. He is a rare clinical teacher who teaches in the class room and society. He propagated Ayurveda through audio video – print medias and social medias through his regular speeches, demonstrations and training programmes.

Dr. L. Mahadevan is so sincere and smart in his teaching which is evidenced by the huge number of teaching sessions across India, apart from his personal schedules. His sessions are highly motivating the students and practitioners to practice Ayurveda. So many practitioners and students turned to the classical Ayurvedic practice with confidence as an impact of his sessions. He formulated guna based practical treatment protocols of different diseases for general practitioners and published them. In short, he fills the Heart of Ayurvedic people with passion for Ayurveda, he fills the Head of the Ayurvedic scholars with knowledge of Ayurveda and he strengthens the hands of Ayurveda scholars with confidence for practice….the three essential components of an ideal teacher…

Extensive knowledge in the Ayurvedic system of medicine and practice as evidenced by many number of students and graduates remaining in the campus for clinical exposure and training.

Running hundred years old hospital in Derisanamcope a village in Kanyakumari Dist, Tamil Nadu, India. Among 60 to 80 out of patient visit the hospital in a day. Has 40 inpatient facilities. Around 150 Sastric formulations are prepared in the hospital itself for the purpose of dispensing to the patients visiting the hospital. All Kriyas in the inpatient ward are performed.
